200 Veterans with 200 Students

We host Annual Veterans' Appreciation Day luncheon. Always free for Veterans, since 2002.

In 2016, we hosted our event called "200 Veterans with 200 Students" which presents an opportunity for veterans to engage in conversation with students who are eager to learn about history. By writing up to 400-word essays, they will also receive a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to Ottawa accompanied by local Canadian veterans.

"Freedom is not Free"

When you go home, tell them of us and say 'for your tomorrow, we gave our today.'

Take a Glimpse into the Eyes of History

The film features a group of veterans ranging from WWII to Afghanistan who recount their personal experiences in hopes that their stories can touch Canada's next generations. More than 600 grade ten students from three high schools viewed Windsor Historical Society – Veterans Memories Project’s film Take a Glimpse into the Eyes of History at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 10th at the Serbian Centre Banquet Halls and Convention Centre. With your help, we will preserve Veterans' memories, so that no one will ever forget.
