Veterans' Appreciation Day
200 Veterans | 200 Students
On November 11th (Remembrance Day), we host our annual "200 Veterans with 200 Students," an event that gives students a chance to talk to veterans one-on-one or in small groups and experience history in a way that they never had before. Such stories are not found in textbooks.
The Windsor Historical Society - Veterans Memories Project hosts their annual Veterans Appreciation Day since 2002. What makes this event special is that veterans dine for free, and students will have a chance to talk to military veterans about their personal experiences. In addition to the luncheon, students have a chance to attend an educational trip to Ottawa, all expenses paid by the Windsor Historical Society - Veterans Memories Project.
